Fairbanks, Alaska Historic Fairbanks - The WW2 Alsaka- Siberia Lend Lease Monument "We Flew the Same Skies" Dedicated in 2006 to comemorate the point of transfer of 7926 airplanes from US factories to the Soviet Union between 1942-1945. American pilots (many of them women) flew airplanes from Great Falls, Montana to Fairbanks, Alaska, where Soviet representatives accepted and ferried them along the Soviet leg of the route to Krasnoyarsk and then to the battle fronts.
