Forgive the pun on words but it's true. Arizona is geological heaven - the many vistas and views are the result of three forces that shaped the state volcanic, tectonic and water. This is an example of sedimentary rock deposited millions of years ago and shaped by a shallow sea that covered the area again millions of years ago. Today the main element shaping the area is wind erosion.
